Doesn't she have the prettiest eyes...

For those of you that have not been to my sister's blog or her picture of the day blog I would like to introduce Bella, Shann's new baby. She is about 5 months old and she was adopted last week on Shann and Steve's 25th wedding anniversary. My sister is in love...not only with her husband but with this sweet little pup.

P.S.
I don't usually steal photos from her blog but I just couldn't resist those eyes...those Bridget Bardot eyes.
My post for Sunday, March 29, 2009

This was the book I read while on our trip to Georgia. I had started reading it a few days before we left and I finished it in the car somewhere in Kentucky just before we stopped for luch.
It was a good story, I needed a few tissues at the end.

My post for Saturday, 3-28-09

Saying good bye to Grandma and Grandpa before the long car ride home.

It was raining pretty hard as we drove North out of Georgia but it slowed down and stopped by the time we were in Tennessee and when we got to Kentucky it was sunny and 74 degrees.

Rebel was perfect on the ride home he wasn't nervous and he didn't get an upset tummy hopefully he has decided that riding in the car is fun.
My post for Friday, 3-27-09
It rained a little on Wed. and Thursday then it poured on Friday and Saturday. I am not complaining at all..because they desperately need the rain in Georgia. Lake Lanier is very low. Mike got up early Friday morning to help his dad load some furniture from the old house then we ran up to the furniture warehouse a little ways up the highway. After that we just relaxed and got packed up so we could head out early on Saturday.

My post for Thursday, 3-26-09

Mike and I took the girls to visit the Georgia Aqurium on Thursday. We had been a few years ago just after it had opened but Megan didn't remember it very well. This time we saw the "4-D" movie too. A "4-D" movie is actually a "3-D" movie that also has special affects like water spritzing you and buble floating in the air. It's a nice aquarium but very expensive. We have been to a lot of aquariums and "The Monterey Bay Aquarium" is still at the top of the list.

My post for Wednesday, 3-25-09

Uncle Bob and Aunt Lita came up to visit and have dinner with us on Wednesday. The girls just love haning out with them.

My post for Tuesday, 3-24-09

On Tuesday Paige, Megan, Jim and Mike went fishing for trout on the Chattahoochee river just below the dam at Lake Sidney Lanier.

The girls didn't catch anything but they got a lot of practice bating their hooks and casting. Jim was impressed with how well Megan did at casting her own line. I think she has her Great Grandma's fishing genes.

Mikes $26.00 Rainbow Trout. That is how much his GA fishing license cost. Hopefully we will get back down there this summer so they can do some more fishing.
Barb had some more trout (from Uncle Carl) thawing out for dinner so we threw the one Mike caught on the grill with them and had a tasty dinner.

My post for Monday, 3-23-09

Grandma Barb's and Grandpa Jim's new house. It is about a mile S.E. from their old house.

Paige, Megan and Rowdy and Rebel enjoying the glider on the front porch after a morning walk.

My post for Sunday 3-22-09

Rebel was a great road trip doggy. He started the trip riding in my lap (just in case he got a sour stomach), then he rode with Paige for a while, and Megan and he also sat with Rowdy back on the 3rd row bench seat that was converted into one large puppy bed.

P.S.
The new minivan did great...love the wireless headphones and the kids loved watching the Disney channel on the satelite t.v. They also did some reading but I don't have any photos of that.
My post for Saturday, 3-21-09
I meant to post this before we took off for the kids Spring break...but ran out of time.

Taking the dogs and kids down South for some Georgia sunshine...be back in a week.

Paige always takes nice photos but...
for a BIG smile just have her stand next to her favorite horse!

Yesterday after school we stopped by the stables to say hi and sign up for Spring classes. They start the first week of April so I am sure Paige will be wishing March away. She had a nice visit with Calliope. I will post the rest of the photos on my main blog.

It's getting warmer...Spring is just around the corner!

This is not what she wore to school. Because it was only in the upper 40's when she got on the school bus this morning, wearing jeans, a cute top with a cardigan and a fleece lined jacket.

When she got home with her jacket and cardigan stuffed in her book bag she begged to change her clothes because she was sooooo hot, after all it had warmed up to 67 degrees.

P.S. If you want to start the neighbors talking try parking a 1984 Trans Am in your driveway.
We borrowed it from Dave while our van was in the shop...and there it sits making the neighbors wonder "is that a new project for Mike?". The answer is NO, A BIG FAT NO!

Some folks may call it trash but to me they are treasures from the sea.

This is what I did with the treasures that I picked up at Glass Beach last summer. Every time I see them it reminds me of the fun we shared walking along scooping up smooth bits of sea glass, small shells and maybe a piece of broken pottery. I remember watching Paige and Megan explore the beach and their delight in finding little hermit crabs in the tide pools. We watched sea lions basking out on the rocks. We even met a little boy from Michigan, he was out visiting his mom in California and he let the girls play with their new little puppy.
It really is the simple things in life!

Paige and Jake

The other night our neighbor Chris came over so Mike could cut some boards for him on his saw in the basement. Jake was with him so I had Paige on "Jake duty". That is harder than it sounds, he is a smart and sweet little 2 year old but he has the attention span of a raccoon. Paige was doing a good job of entertaining him and keeping him out of trouble.

When the sun shines here (not often at this time of year) and Paige forgets to shut her bedroom door, you will most likely find this scene when you look down the hall from the top of the stairs.

My post for Tuesday, 3-10-09

Got this handmade glass sea star from my sister for Christmas. One of her friends daughters made it. It's so sturdy but delicate at the same time and I love how vibrant the colors are, it is a mix of orange, red and yellow.

The hat was from Old Navy, it must of been new...we still have it in the closet and Megan wears it now.

My post for Saturday, 3-07-09
I didn't take any new pictures this weekend so we are going with these blast from the past...

Hat Day
in honor of
"The Cat In The Hat"

Paige went with the adventure hat she looks like she could work in the Outback Cafe at the zoo.

Megan went for the rhinestone - glitter cowgirl look.

My post for Thursday, March 5,2009

We got to have Joe over on Thursday while Deb went out of town for a meeting. Rebel was so excited to have company. Here they are getting ready to go for a walk. It was so warm (in the 50's and sunny) that we went on an hour long walk before lunch.

Joe and Rebel are so funny, they sniff everything and then they try to out pee each other. I have to watch them so they don't accidentally pee on each other.

My post for Wednesday, 3-04-09

Here are some cards I made this week from my scraps. The background paper of the one below was actually the front of a card (not a handmade card) I received. I just cut it down to size and added to it. I figured it was better to recycle it into a new card than to throw it in the recycling box.

When I showed these cards to Paige she said "Mom you are all about the bird...is that your new icon?". I guess it's time to give the bird a rest, but it's so cute and easy.
