The kids are back to school so Rebel will have to make his own forts. Paige made him this one last week. He was relaxing on the sofa and she came along and built him a puppy fort out of throw pillows. He really didn't seem to mind at all, but I don't think he cares for the flash on the camera.

My post for Saturday 3-29-08Lorena came and picked Brittany and Paige up yesterday afternoon. Paige will spend the night at their house she also went to the movies with them and saw "Collage Road Trip" and then they went swimming on Saturday. A busy-fun weekend for Paige.
Megan and I went over and picked her buddy Sydney up and she spent the night at our house. They were really good, they play together very well and they clean up their messes. After dinner they got to make themselves ice cream sundaes with whipped cream and sprinkles.
Don't ya just love the toothless grins, 6 year olds have the best smiles!

Is this the cutest flower in the patch or what? Joe Boxer is the most patient loving dog I know, he puts up with a lot all in the hopes of a few puppy treats and lots of hugs.Sorry Joe, but we saw that headband sitting there and we just couldn't resist.
Yesterday the girls and I went over to check on Joe and take him for a walk while Bud was at work and Deb was driving all over Ohio (for work). We had a nice sunny walk to the park and then we came back and ate lunch at Deb and Buds kitchen table. After our visit with Joe we went to the dollar movies to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks". It was a cute movie, we all enjoyed it and luckily Megan has not started singing like a chipmunk!

My post for Saturday 3-22-08
Look Mom our hands are clean...no pink, purple and green fingers...yet! I had them put their tie dye shirts on, figured you wouldn't notice any egg colors on them if they had any egg dyeing accidents. It worked too..tie dye shirts equal no accidents.
We painted and dipped. They enjoyed the painting but I still think dipping is the way to go..I'm old school when it comes to coloring eggs.
Paige and Megan our egg artist.

Mike got the bikes out and started them up, well at least the Honda's. The Suzuki is on the charger. He took a little spin around the neighborhood. I think his bikes may have a case of cabin fever, him too. If you have any warm Spring weather...please send it our way. It's 46 degrees out and it is all I can do to get the kids to wear their light jackets and vest.
My Post for Thursday 3-20-08 ....the first day of Spring!Hey, has anyone seen Spring? If you do can you please send her our way. We need Spring bad, are you listening Jack Frost and Mother Nature?
I took these pictures around 5 p.m. last night on the eve of Spring. The kids about freaked out when they looked out the window and noticed that the rain had changed to snow. They yelled "we don't want another snow day!". Luckily when we woke up this a.m. the snow was gone but it was still cold, around 34 degrees.
The sun finally came out and it warmed up to 55 degrees by 3 p.m. with a brisk wind of course.

4th Grade Art!Paige brought home this Victorian Architecture art project today. She drew the house and then colored it with water color pencils and painted over it with water to spread the colors. I asked her if it was hard to draw a Victorian house and she said the hardest part was coloring it all in.
I think she did a wonderful job. I love the details that she added, flowers in the window, tie backs on the curtains, and the weather vane too.
Don't forget you can click on the photo to enlarge it. Enjoy :)

Paige's first $50.00Last week a market research company in the area called me, I have done some "work" for them in the past. If you can call getting paid forty bucks for tasting cinnamon rolls work. Or an entire package of Pampers free plus fifty bucks for my opinion (this was back when Megan was in diapers).
So they were looking for girls between 8 and 10 that could give them their opinions about soup commercials. Paige had to answer a few questions on the phone. Then last night I drove her to their office and she got to participate in the study with 4 other girls. She was pretty thrilled to make fifty bucks for an hour of her time, plus they gave her a little snack bag of Doritos so that sealed the deal. She gets to keep half of the money in her wallet and the other half was put in her savings.

Top o' the Morn!Happy St. Patrick's Day from me and my little charmers! Paige and Megan are all decked out in their Irish green today. They have their shamrock shirts, shamrock socks and shamrock pony tail holders in their hair. Thank goodness for Target and their cheap T.'s and dollar spot socks and ponytail holders!
My post for Sunday 3-16-08We went over to Terry and Steve's for dinner tonight. We wanted to get together since they are going down to GA next week for Spring break. Paige and Megan made cupcakes to celebrate their cousins birthdays. They had all been down to Orlando for Britt's 16th and Aaron's 13th birthdays. Brittney was marching with her school band and her family came down to surprise her.
We had a nice visit and dinner was yummy. Aunt Terry surprised Paige and Megan with cute little Easter baskets too. They enjoyed that and they always have fun playing with Aaron. They played ping pong and hide and seek. The girls are never ready to leave when it is time to say good by. But they were thrilled to get to see their uncle and cousin in the car as they drove over to Aaron's soccer practice, which is about 3/4 of the way to our house. They kept telling Mike speed up so they won't get away, like we were on a police chase or something.

I don't think I've had a chance to share these pictures. The one above is the glass sting ray that I got Mike for his Valentines gift. He kinda has a thing for sting rays since he has a 76 Corvette (that was the last year for the Sting Ray as far as Vettes go). We also got to swim with the sting rays on our honeymoon in Grand Cayman. So I thought it was cool when I found this one.
The starfish below is one of the cool things that my sister and I found on our little shopping trip to Home Goods when she was here last month. Shann was the one that found it, and she insisted that I get it. I am glad she did because if you find something cool you better get it or it will be gone when you go back. Plus the price was right at $9.99.

My post for Friday 3-14-08We are so proud of this little girl!
Megan brought a note home from her teacher today and here is what it said... "Hooray! Hooray! Megan moved up to a level 14 (in reading) today! I'm sooooo proud of her hard work!".
We are so proud of her hard work too. She was at a level 10 and she skipped levels 12 and 13 and she is all the way up to where she needs to be in first grade reading. She had been reading every night and challenging herself. I think the most important thing is that not only has her skill grown but so has her confidence.

Snow Day!The kids had yet another snow day today, the reason on the school website was that too many subdivisions were not plowed yet. They got a nice sunny day to play in the snow before it all melts away. Rebel loves to go out and tromp around in it. A little while ago I had to go out and holler at him to get back to our yard. It's not that he was in the neighbors yard, he was on their back step looking in their back glass door. They have two big dogs so he was probably checking them out. Silly pup. He was good when I called he came running home fast, the trick is to call "Rebel....PUPPY TREAT!" that works every time!

When Shann was here last month I took her to one of my favorite stores "Home Goods". It is owned by the folks that own "Marshall's". It is such a cool store it is like going to a high class garage sale. You never know what kind of treasures you will find. When we were there I found this cool mermaid clock for the kids bathroom. Now when I am combing hair I won't be sending Paige off to tell me what time it is. It is hanging above the shelf where the picture frame is. The girls love it, especially Megan since she just learned how to tell time.
My post for Thursday 3-6-08This is the picture frame that I crafted with the "Faux Mosiac" kit when my sister was here last month. She made one too but somehow I did not get a picture of it before she packed. I put mine in the kids bathroom it replaces an ABC frame that was starting to look a little babyish.
