My post for Saturday, September 13, 2008Saturday was a busy day. I worked from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. cashiering at Anderson's. Then I ran to Deb and Bud's to pick the girls up from their sleepover. They had a fantastic time (they always do). They made brownies, they played games, they made their own rock video. They were the stars and Bud was the director-camera man and Aunt Deb was in charge of lighting and costumes. Bud put it on a DVD for them so they could share it with us. They also watched "Nanny McPhee" that was all on Friday night before they sacked out on the floor of the living room. They had planned to sleep-camp in the sunroom but they conked out before they could move their beds out there. I guess that may happen on the next sleepover. Saturday morning after a pancake breakfast they took Joe on a dog/nature walk and stopped at the park to play and they splashed in puddles while wearing their rubber boots. They went to Ci-Ci's for a pizza lunch then they did some retail therepy at Target and Tuesday Morning. They got some cute headbands from the dollar spot at Target and a cool rainbow chalk writer. They love decorating Bud and Deb's driveway with chalk, it's an old tradition. They even decorate the neighbors driveways too. They built a fort on the stairway landing when they got home from their shopping trip. When I arrived a little after 5 they were watching the Disney channel and vegging out, but they still weren't ready to go home, they never are.
So I reminded them that the Buckeyes were playing their big night game out in Southern California against U.S.C. and that we were supposed to go to the neighbors to watch the game on the big screen in their yard. That got them moving towards the car.
When we got home they helped unpack the car and put their belongings away then they changed into their Buckeye shirts.
We had dinner on the patio, sloppy joes, carrot sticks , pears and chips and salsa.Just as we were getting done with dinner our friends Dave and Laura came by with their son Jack. We visited for a bit then we headed over to Brian and Lauras to watch the game on the big 12 foot blow up screen in their backyard.

It started raining in the early hours of Saturday morning and they predicted thunderstorms for Saturday night. It was hot and humid yesterday afternoon but by 5 p.m. a nice breeze started blowing so it wasn't too bad. The Buckeyes did not play very well at all. As Brian said "I'd rather be sitting here in the rain watching the Buckeys win instead of having nice weather and watching them loose." In the end the score was USC 35 OSU 3, not a good night for the Buckeyes or the Buckeye fans.
It's hard to tell from the 2 photo's above but that screen is BIG, to give you and idea those trapezoid windows are a good 12 feet up. The people on the screen are larger than life so to speak. It's almost like drive in football!
Paige and Harry scored front row seats on the patio. Megan sacked out in Mike's lap before halftime. I am surprised that she could sleep with all the hollering that was going on. It's hard to tell from the pictures but there was a pretty big group.
