It's still Spring in Ohio! My garden still has Spring bulbs in bloom and we had a nice warm sunny weekend to enjoy them too. As you can see from the photo of my Climetis that mine has a long way to grow before it is blooming like my sisters. She posted pictures of hers last weekend and it made me laugh because mine are barely out of the ground. But with this warm weather we have had the past couple of days I can almost watch them grow.

The
Rainbow
Twirlers!

This was our live entertainment last night. After eating dinner on the patio (grilled chicken, french fries, coleslaw and watermelon) the girls twirled around with their rainbow ribbon wands.

Today was class picture day at school. They usually do a cute shot of each class and the kids are posed real cute not just standing like little soldiers in a row. These are the outfits that the girls picked out to wear. Luckily it is warm (64) and sunny today!

Lights, camera .....action!

Today was costume day for the girls. They both got their tap costumes for the May recital. Paige is still waiting for her ballet costume to come in, so maybe we will get it next Tuesday.
Megan's tap class is dancing to "Let's Go To The Movies" from "Annie".

Paige is tap dancing to "Jail-house Rock"

Been mulching, yep today was a good day to mulch, not to hot not to cold or windy but just right for spreading mulch. It is dirty work but so rewarding. Now it is 3 p.m. and only the dogs have had lunch...think I will grab a quick bite then head up to shower before the kids get off the school bus at 4.

Before mulch

Ta-Da.....AFTER!

I took a picture of Paige and Megan on the steps this morning and that was what I was planning to post for my picture of the day. Then this evening Megan got two little splinters in the palm of her hand from the wooden glider on the front porch. Both Mike and I tried to help her get them out but after her throwing a fit and acting like we were going to amputate her hand with tweezers and a needle she calmly said "I want to do it myself". So here she is doing it herself. She got one of the little buggers out before dinner . After dinner I gave her a bath and we tried to get the other one out but so far we only managed to get half of it out. She is zonked out in bed so I may go up and get that darn splinter out before I zonk out myself. I will say this for her she is a tough little kid and strong too....I should know I was the one trying to hold her hand still. Oh and after all the tears and fuss she looks up at me and says "I love you mom."

A blast from the past...when I was posting the picture for my main blog I ran across these and thought I would share the smiles. Megan Leanna all dressed up and no where to go... age 2, Oct.2003.
Paige Marguerite picked flowers at Aunt Debs to take to her ballet teacher.
age 5, Oct.2003
Sorry these post are late...housework won out over computer time this weekend.

We will pretend this is my post for 4/15/07I wonder if my family has a clue to how spoiled they are? I dipped these yummy strawberries to go with the chocolate mouse and vanilla whipped cream for dessert last night. Megan was all about chocolate dipped strawberries...she gave them a two thumbs up then asked for more!
Cartoon time

While I was cleaning house on Saturday and it was pouring down rain the girls were watching cartoons on Boomerang. Megan says "We already saw this one" then I explained that they all start the same and end the same too.

We will pretend this is my post for 4/14/07

I guess it is true the apple's don't fall far from the tree. I remember watching "Looney Toons" and enjoying all the silly antics of Sylvester, Bugs and Tweety. Glad my kids have Boomerang so they can enjoy the classics too.

That's All Folks!

Yeah the sun is shining!

Paige tried on her Tinkerbell sunglasses this a.m. We actually have sun today...what a nice sight. It is hard to wake up and get going when it's all overcast and raining like it has been for the past 3 or 4 days.

This smart, sweet, beautiful girl turns 9 one month from today...the b.day countdown is on!
These are some tough little tulips, they have been frosted, snowed and blowed on yet they are blooming just fine.

I was talking to my dad the other day and the topic turned to deviled eggs. He told me that he puts horse radish sauce in his. So when I made mine I put some in...they were great...thanks for the tip dad.

HAY! It's the horses!
These are the horses that live next to the front of our development. We look for them every time we drive by. Today I happened to have my camera so we stopped to take their picture.
P.S. This is my 100th post on this blog.

I love this little puppy face, even when he has been naughty (chewing a little divit in the hall rug). I still want to snuggle him up and hug him.

Our Easter Bunny hid the eggs indoors this year. We woke up to a light dusting of snow outside so the girls hunted for eggs inside in their new Easter t-shirts with long sleeve shirts underneath. Happy Easter everyone! You know it's cold when you have a fire in the fireplace all day on Easter Sunday!

Hoppy Easter!Friday night we went to "Eggs, Paws and Claws" at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for members only. There were lots of fun things for the kids to do. There were treat stations, an indoor area (it was about 30 degrees and snow flurries) set up with miniture golf, an inflatable obstacle course with a big slide and the Easter Bunny was there to take pictures. The kids had fun and we enjoyed walking around the zoo...even in the cold.

We took Mike to Don Pablo's for his birthday dinner. Paige all of a sudden decided that she loves soppipia's (puffed tortia's with powdered sugar that you dip in cinnamon glaze) we have been trying to get her to try them since she was like 3. Megan likes the sauce. She was dipping her finger in and licking it off and I joked "why don't you use a straw" so she did. No more joking with Megan!
Go to my main Blog for more b.day pictures :)

Here is the Forsythia.I took this picture while out on errands yesterday. We don't have any in our yard but every other house does.

Remember how I said we will get 3 more snows after the Forsythia blooms? Well last night we had snow flurries and then again this a.m. Here are my poor tulips

Paige's Smile

Please excuse the post it's I put them their to cover private information.

Paige had her first Orthodontist appointment yesterday. I don't know who was more nervous her or me? But not to worry her mouth is perfectly fine for her age. So that gap between her front teeth is not a problem because she will need it as her baby teeth fall out and her permanent teeth take their place. The only minor concern was that little baby tooth that is loose and is sitting behind a permanent one. I told him not to worry because if Paige does not wiggle it out by April 19th then her dentist will get it out at her next appointment. I know it is super loose but being behind that tooth it does not get much action. I talked to the dentist last month when Megan was getting her teeth cleaned and he said he could take care of it. Paige will keep going back to the orthodontist every 6 months for check ups to make sure her teeth are coming in fine and the cool thing is it does not cost us anything unless/until she needs to have something done (then it's the big bucks). But for now we can be happy and enjoy her smile...spaces and all.

P.S. On the way out of the office Paige said "that was fun, easier than the dentist".

Today will probably be the last day my toes are exposed for a while. We will get into the 80's today but come tomorrow it will be much colder. I noticed that the forsythia bloomed last week and that means at least 3 more snows ( or 3 days it will be cold enough to snow). We have a lot of weather tales here in the Midwest. Tomorrow's high is to be 49 degrees...that is colder than our low temp of 50 for today.

Monday, April 02, 2007

This is what the sky looked like last night when I was making tacos and corn for dinner. So in the midst of shredding cheese and chopping green onions I grabbed the camera for a quick picture of the Midwest sky on the first day of April 2007.

So this is life....last year I got each of the girls an Amaryllis bulb for Christmas from their Great Grandma. They love watching the flowers grow and bloom and they are a sure thing. Last year the little cheap pots that they came with were too light weight for the size of the plants and they got top heavy. So this year we planted them in larger pots and the girls decorated the pots with markers and stickers. Well wouldn't ya know it Megan's does not have a bud yet and Paige's has two. So now Paige's has bloomed and has another bud about to burst and poor Megan's just has the green leaves. If Megan's ever gets a bloom on it we will post it. She is such a good sport she has not even fussed about it. I'm proud of her for being such a big girl about it.
We will pretend this was posted on March 31, 2007 Hey Sis these are for you....these are pictures from the last time we were in Monterey. The funny thing is, I noticed that the pants paige has on in these pictures are pants that Megan wore on Friday. Paige was 5 and Megan was a month shy of 2. Enjoy!
