A message from Deb, Bud and Joe...

Hi All,

I am happy to report that Joe Boxer is home with us after an overnight stay and a MRI. We met with his vet, this morning and learned that he has a small tumor on the right side of his brain. It is low enough, in the brain, that it is inoperable but is treatable with medication and 15 to 17 rounds of radiation. We have a follow-up appt., with his internal medicine vet and a radiology oncologist, in 2 weeks. We are going to evaluate his condition and plan a course of action.

Our primary concern is his quality of life and the preliminary report is that he may get an extra 2 good years, with radiation treatment, and die of old age and a life well lived. We will take it one day at a time and count our blessings. Please pray that Bud and I continue with the best care that we can provide, for Joe, which puts his quality of life before our own needs.

Joe is going to take a temporary sabbatical from his regular therapy dog visits @ Dublin Hospital, Mayfair Village Nursing Home and The James so that we can concentrate on getting him healthy again. He is still his normal self. He just came into my office, burped & tooted, and is now sleeping comfortably. J

Thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to keep Joe in their prayers. We continue to be blessed with a supportive circle of dear friends and a dedicated medical team @ Med Vet.

Love and licks,

Deb, Bud and Joe Boxer
