This week the kids school is participating in "No Name-Calling Week". It is an annual week of educational activities aimed at ending name-calling of all kinds and providing schools with the tools and inspiration to launch an ongoing dialog about ways to eliminate bullying in their community.

They have been having school-wide theme days. Today's theme was :Caring- Put a "Lid" on Name Calling. Wear your favorite hat to school.The first graders went on a field trip to the zoo today so Megan not only wore her hat but she also was slathered in sunscreen.
Last week in her class each student picked an animal that lives at our zoo and they did research about their animal with books from the school library. Megan chose the Sting Ray because she liked petting them when we were at Sea World last summer.
